There is an interesting thread going on at webmasterworld on domains. I am totally convinced that a good, quality domain will return its value several times over.
It is just difficult for ordinary people to see what it is all about. Perhaps when mainstream business realize the real value of a good domain, domainers will really make a killling. Domains are so much like realestate. A domain is only ever worth what someone is prepared to pay.
The year to date sales of domains is a good list to go through and get some ideas.

I sold a domain earlier this year that should have made the DNjournal list (right at the bottom though). Maybe Sedo didn’t want to take credit for the sale.
Interestingly enough it must have been a domain investor that bought it, as six months later it’s still sitting there with a bunch of PPC ads on it.
Is it possible to say what it was and how much you sold it for?
