Someone is interested in one of my domain

I received an email from someone interested in purchasing a domain I bought last year. I had kind of forgotten about the domain, as own at least 100 domains and haven’t gotten around to building a site yet.

They have a business using the country extension of the domain and want to buy the .com.

They offered $50, which I think isn’t worth the trouble, so I counter-offered $450.

Wow that’s quite a counteroffer Mike:)

But as you say, even without me knowing the domain name, $50 is rather opportunistic proposal, which I don’t think they themself believe would eventuate.

Anyway this always interested me, while no exact science and most of the online tools being kinda not too trustworthy, how do you estimate whats a domain name worth?

Yeah, $50 hardly seems worth it. If the domain isn’t worth $50 to someone why would you even want to own it.. $450 is pretty reasonable I would think. I am assuming you have an average domain, but it just fits a particular person fairly well. If you have a good domain then you probably would have ignored a $50 request all together.

I was wondering if there was any progress with this domain transaction?

I didn’t get any reply from them. I am thinking of just sitting on the domain for now and perhaps putting something up on the site, which might get them to take some action.
