My new site
By Mike | September 8, 2006
The design is complete on my new site: PassportOnly. There are still a couple of issues which need to be fixed, but overall I am happy with the result.
Now I just need hundreds of articles and lots of traffic coming to the site.
I guess you need to start somewhere. If anyone has any travel related sites, I would be more than happy to do some link exchanges with any of my sites.

Looking good. I think that you could use bright photos of the destinations to attract visitors. I’m gonna check the website later when there is more content but first impression is really good.
Do you have some writers already? And how much approximately do you offer per article?

Thanks, Jaro. I am happy to hear that you get a good first impression. I have always believed in content first, but I think sometimes a good design can help people to trust your site, when they pull out their credit card.
I have had a huge response from writers. I am budgeting for $10 an article. I got a lot of flack from this from so called professional writers, but I got a tonne of email from people.

It looks good. One thing, if you can you should make the passportonly.com image area click to the home page. Even though you have a home button right there it could not hurt.

Are the blogs live? When I went to take a look at the sign up process, I couldn’t figure out how to sign up…

I like the site and also plan to use your offer of link exchange in the future as I run my own travel web worldtravelasia.com. But one thing keep poping up in my mind – if you pay people to write you an article how do you verify that those articles are original?
I am playing with similar idea myself but was uncertain how to deal with such potential issues.
Good Luck

You can specify blatantly that you will only accept original material. You can accept the articles, run it through google/copyscape to see if it is original.
Like anyone, send a couple of emails and try to check their homepage/work they have already done.
Finally, don’t pay too much. If someone works out, you can always pay more later for good people you find.

Personal finance, Yes the blogs are live. The joomla component which makes this happen is pretty simple.
You need to first register, then you get a menu something like “My blog”. I obviously need to make the process more clear.
I spent hours trying the wordpress bridge for Joomla, which works well but I couldn’t get it to work for multiple users.
