How tempting is this? – NOT!
I hope you’re doing well. I’d like to introduce you to a great opportunity that I am working on right now exclusively with xxxx.
I work very closely with the Trade Floor Support team that covers Equities and Fixed Income support for all the traders in xxxx. The team sits on the trading floor and responds to all of the support calls that come in from the floor.
I’ve got a very strong relationship with this team and met with the manager who is now searching for a new candidate for his team as one of his team members will transfer to another division, creating a vacancy in his team.
I have attached a job description to this mail. The manager is not only looking for someone with the right technical background but is also placing a strong emphasis on the personality of the candidate as it takes the right kind of person to be able to work on the Trade Floor.
If you are interested, the role will be a 6 month rolling contract and this is easily renewed. I have placed one member of the team and have this position on an exclusive basis. I’ll be happy to introduce you to the manager who I think you’ll get along very well with.

Don’t do it! These things might sound tempting at first, but very soon you are back on track, wondering what made you change your mind and selling your soul again….

I posted this because I totally cannot see myself doing this type of work again. It makes me slightly sick just thinking about it. If you have ever had to support traders in a bank you will know what I mean.
I love what I am doing now and have no regrets at all. I have some new ideas for new projects, so I don’t stop working in that sense.
Most of the people you meet travelling are only doing it for a fixed time. Even if it is for 6 months. I love the feeling that I can go anywhere at anytime.
I still have more of Thailand/Malaysia/Indonesia and possibly the Philippines to go. Probably be back in Australia for Christmas (and summer!)
