Sorry for my continual posts this evening (if anyone is reading?) but I thought I should say something.
Every good domain I consider buying is already taken. When I check the site in IE, I find the site is nothing but a bunch of links.
I am sure people know of these kinds of sites. I wish ICANN would make some kind of rule where people had to develop the site within one year of purchasing a domain – crappy sites not included.
Maybe a voting system is necessary? The worst thing about the internet at the moment is spammers, but they only do it for the money they are probably making…

I’m with you, but I’m afraid it’s just the double-edged sword that $5 domains has created. If the were $100 or $500 each, you can bet people would be working hard at making each one a non-spam site.
Finding that domain name is going to be tough. you’re just going to have to add a letter or mix some words together or you look on the secondary market for domain names. There’s a website of domain names expiring, so you can see whats available. There’s a market for domain names as it is picking up with this whole advertising (i.e. adsense) picking up, so fetching some cool names would be nice.
I’ve actually been surprised at some of the names I’ve come across that I fee are still decent. granted, the one word perfect names no longer exist, but they wouldn’t even if domains were $100 a piece. You just have to keep trying combinations until you find one that works.
