Day 1 of the World Internet Summit

March 8, 2007

I just got back from the first day of the World Internet Summit held in my hometown Melbourne, Australia. The seminar is being run by Tom Hua and Brett MacFall. We also heard from Paul Blackburn and Mike Filsaime.

Perhaps the most informative presentation was by Mike Filsaime. I have gotten plenty of emails from him and his affiliates promoting his products over the last year or so and never paid too much attention to them.

He explained his background, how he got into internet marketing and the history of his internet business. I thought he only sold ebooks, but he also runs sites like instantbuzz.com and paydotcom.com. He then gave a live demonstration on how he launches a new product.

Here is his latest effort, a guide to the internet resources he uses for his business. Up-selling, down-selling - he sometimes even sounds like he is reading copy from his product websites.

I couldn’t see what the fuss was about with his butterfly marketing product, but his demonstration cleverly showed what it can do. I think it is a little expensive, but it looks like a fairly powerful product for internet marketers.
