Day 1 - 28 Site Challenge

February 1, 2007

I was out most of the day today as it was my neices first day of school. I don’t want to make excuses, but I still managed to get my first website online this evening.

Well here it is: kangarooroute.net. As I said in the start of this challenge, unless you use some kind of automatic content creation program, there is no way I am going to be able to create websites with 100s of pages of content.

One of my strategies when working on the internet is to rush and get something up. Spend a little time promoting it and then moving on to my next mini/major project. If I get just a hint of interest I get some motivation to go back and do some further work on the site.

Occasionally different opportunities arise, like finding a partner who wants to help produce a website. If I was only working on a single project, there is no way I would have these opportunities.

I think it is really amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. Making a site a day for a whole month sounds crazy, but when you sit down and take it day by day. And know you cannot just take days off. It really snaps you into the mood of production.

Hopefully I will give you an update of my progress soon as well.

    Mike,

somehow I think your link to the new site is not working. I tried both kangaroo.net and kanagaroo.net (did you purchase misspelt domain for “fat finger” typers??) but neither came up in my browser.

    Cheers
    Dan

Thanks, I fixed the link. I have only once misspelt registering a domain!
