I am planning to go back to Australia soon for a while at least. The one year I told my family I was coming to Japan for has turned into at least five years. I will be taking some time off from working a regular job and working as much as I can on my websites and spending some time doing some travelling.
This article has been sitting in my mind for a while now. Not that I want to become an asbestos inspector, but the whole idea of taking advantage of a change in government regulations or just optimizing a website for a highly profitable industrial sector, are some things I am considering.
Australia is still a fairly small market, and internet usage, especially broadband is still fairly undeveloped in my opinion. This could be used to my advantage however. I think awareness regarding affiliate marketing and SEO is still fairly low. Perhaps I have been out of the country too long, I don’t know. I would be interested in hearing any feedback from any Australians.
Japan for foreigners is kind of difficult to break into. Of course it is fairly easy to target the foreign population, which I have done with some degree of success. My one Japanese property site is kind of floundering, but with the right help could be profitable. I am thinking of adding the ability for companies to add their own properties. Something to think about more next year.
Other ideas I have been thinking about it is to get the appropriate licences/qualifications to be a qualified property/mortgage/SEO/website developer and try and target local businesses with a highly SEO’d, slick website. Afterall, only relying on affiliate/adsense programs we really making other people rich.
2005 was my property year, 2006 websites, 2007????
